Back from the Road, and back on the farm 03/17/2009
It is great to be back on the farm! We had a great time traveling, maybe though needing a little vacation from the vacation at first..... A lot of new stuff coming up this season: a bigger and more organized (we hope!) workshop schedule, a Sunday market, and we're on facebook! Also a lot going on with the Land trust effort, and it was very encouraging to see the engagement of so many folks in the effort. The time it right it seems, and we found all across the country people were also really "getting it" in their communities about the inherent connections between a local, secure, healthy, and affordable food supply, the enormous and real threat of phenomenon like global warming, and the practical issue of local farmland access to new farmers. Anyway, much to do, and always not enough time this time of year. We are working on a lot of new and interesting projects here this season: a new passive heating system for the greenhouse (as well as compost heating), some new moveable greenhouse/chicken tractors, a lot of new bed building, and more....
